A Panchayat is a body of elected representatives formed to manage the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. As far as a Grama Panchayat is concerned, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and carries out day-to-day administration.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall activities of the Panchayat.Vice President: Performs the duties of the President in their absence.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Formed to streamline and facilitate the decisions of the Panchayat regarding matters such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
